1. Who we are
PULSE (operated by Paramount Management Services LLC, "we," "us") is an adaptive training app for endurance athletes. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Account information: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google account ID. We use this to identify your account and let you sign in.
Training profile: birth year, sex, height, weight, fitness level, race goals, and training preferences you provide during setup.
Daily check-ins: your self-reported sleep quality, soreness, energy, and wellness status, used to adapt your training plan day to day.
Meal photos and nutrition data: photos you upload of meals, and the nutrition estimates (calories, carbs, protein, fat) generated from them.
Wearable and health data: if you connect a wearable device (Whoop, Oura, Google Health via Fitbit or Pixel Watch, Apple Health, or Android Health Connect), we receive your recovery scores, workouts, heart-rate zone data, and — for some devices — the GPS location where a workout started. This data is used to adapt your training plan and attach weather context to your activities.
Strava data (optional): if you connect Strava, we display your Strava activities to you. We never send Strava data to any AI system, never use it to train or improve any model, and never show it to anyone other than you.
Weight check-ins: your weekly weight entries, used to keep your nutrition targets accurate.
3. How we use your information
- To generate and adapt your personalized training plan based on your recovery trends and check-ins.
- To estimate your nutrition needs and provide fueling guidance.
- To analyze meal photos using Anthropic's Claude AI (see Section 4) and produce calorie/macronutrient estimates — always shown as a range with a confidence level, never a single precise number.
- To generate your daily training brief and evening summary, worded by AI from a deterministic, rule-based plan — the underlying coaching decisions are never made by AI, only the wording is.
- To attach weather conditions to your synced workouts, using the workout's own GPS location when available, or your saved home location otherwise.
We do not use your health or training data to build a competing health model, and we do not sell your data.
4. Third parties we share data with
- Anthropic (Claude API): processes meal photos and generates the wording for your daily brief. Processed server-side; Anthropic does not use this data to train its models under our agreement with them.
- Whoop, Oura, Google (Google Health/Fitbit), Apple (HealthKit), Android Health Connect: if you connect one of these, we exchange OAuth tokens with them to pull your recovery and workout data. We never send your data back to them.
- Open-Meteo: we send only a location and timestamp (no personal or account information) to retrieve historical weather conditions for your workouts.
- Google (Sign-In): if you sign in with Google, Google authenticates your identity; we only receive your email and account ID.
- Resend: our email provider, used only to send you sign-in links.
- Vercel (hosting and file storage) and Neon (database): infrastructure providers that host the app and store your data. They do not access your data for any purpose other than providing their service to us.
We never use Strava data with any of the above AI or data-processing services.
5. Data security
Health and wearable data is encrypted at rest. We do not run third-party analytics on your health records.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access and export your data: you can download a copy of your training, nutrition, and check-in history at any time from your account settings.
- Delete your account: you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your account settings. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone — we do not hold a copy after you delete.
- Correct your data: you can update your profile, training, and check-in data directly in the app at any time.
- Withdraw wearable access: you can disconnect Whoop, Oura, Google Health, or Strava at any time; we stop syncing new data immediately and you can request deletion of previously-synced data via account deletion.
- We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active, so your training history and plan stay intact. If you delete your account, your data is removed immediately (Section 6) — we don't retain a copy for a grace period afterward.
8. Health information and medical disclaimer
PULSE provides wellness guidance, not medical advice. We do not diagnose medical conditions, and nothing in the app should be treated as a substitute for professional medical advice. If you have a health concern, consult a doctor.
9. Children's privacy
PULSE is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
